In this pivotal full-time role, you'll support the Head Chef in all aspects of the kitchen operation, ensuring residents enjoy high-quality dining experiences tailored to their individual needs and preferences.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this position.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with the Head Chef to plan, prepare, and cook a diverse range of appealing and nutritionally balanced meals, taking into account specific dietary requirements and resident feedback.
- Maintaining impeccable standards of food hygiene and safety, strictly adhering to all relevant regulations and best practices.
- Assisting in the supervision and development of the kitchen team, fostering a positive and efficient working environment.
- Contributing to effective stock management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste to optimise kitchen costs.
What we're looking for:
- Essential: Proven experience as a Sous Chef within a care home setting.
- Strong culinary skills and a genuine enthusiasm for producing high-quality food.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective interaction with residents, staff, and management.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent).
- Must be able to reliably commute to Basingstoke on a daily basis.
- Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
