Due to internal progression, Chilworth Partnership are assisting a market leading and household brand, based in Basingstoke, in their search for a Finance Director. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role will assume total responsibility for Finance Operations. Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day Finance Operations, ensuring efficient delivery of services including P2P, O2C, Intercompany, Capital Accounting, Cash Management, R2R, and Payroll both locally and internationally. 
  • Develop and implement the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Finance Operations, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a large finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Ensure robust internal controls and financial policies. mitigating risks related to reporting and fraud.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Finance Operations and internal stakeholders, including site finance teams, FP&A, Change Management, and IT.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness, ensuring the team also meets SLAs and operational targets.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and standardise best practices across Finance Operations.

Candidate background:

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with extensive PQE.
  • Strong background in Finance Operations or Shared Services.
  • Proven experience managing large, complex finance operations teams.
  • Strong expertise in ERP systems and financial automation tools.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial controls, compliance, and reporting standards including IFRS, GAAP.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability manage cross-functional and multi-department relationships.
  • Natural affinity to drive change, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
