Overview

TSR Legal are proud to be working with a highly regarded South West law firm who are now seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their busy Private Client team in Bath. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide vital administrative and secretarial support to a well-established and friendly department specialising in wills, probate, estates, trusts, and elderly client matters.

Key Responsibilities

As a Legal Secretary, you will play a key role in supporting fee earners and ensuring a smooth workflow across the team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Opening new client files and assisting with compliance including conflict checks, ID verification and AML procedures
  • Preparing, amending and formatting legal documents including wills, LPAs, and estate administration paperwork
  • Managing diaries, scheduling client appointments, and booking meeting rooms
  • Organising virtual and in-person meetings with clients and third parties
  • Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and HMRC
  • Providing support with post-completion documentation and handling archived file queries
  • Maintaining accurate digital filing and record keeping
  • Handling confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
  • Assisting fee earners in progressing matters by being a proactive and reliable team player

Key Skills and Attributes

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant within a Private Client or similar legal team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in document production
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Confident communicator with excellent client care abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
  • Able to work independently, use initiative, and prioritise a varied workload
  • A discreet and professional manner when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
