Legal Assistant – Personal Injury

Location: Bath

TSR Legal are delighted to be partnering with a leading national Top 100 law firm who are seeking a Legal Assistant to join their highly regarded Personal Injury team in Bath.

This is a fantastic opportunity to provide vital administrative and legal support to a busy team, ensuring high-quality service delivery to clients while contributing to the smooth running and success of the department.

Key Responsibilities

Personalised Client Service

  • Manage an administrative workload under the guidance of fee earners.
  • Provide administrative support including file opening, telephone management, document production (including audio typing and digital dictation), filing/archiving, photocopying, email management, online portal management, and handling incoming/outgoing post.
  • Draft documents and bills, under supervision, using appropriate precedents and templates.
  • Undertake basic legal processes, such as processing cases through portals, obtaining documentation, arranging meetings, liaising with the court, completing forms, and processing monies.
  • Correspond with clients via telephone, email, letter, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Ensure all work complies with confidentiality, data protection, and file management policies.
  • Assist with file audits and compliance checks.
  • Handle new enquiries when required.

Sustainable Growth

  • Provide administrative support for business development and marketing activities, including event coordination and preparation of materials.
  • Update and manage the CRM system, acting as a super user where required.
  • Liaise with third parties such as agents, experts, and other solicitors, maintaining a professional and positive rapport.
  • Represent the firm professionally at all times.

Dynamic Culture

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships within the team and with clients.
  • Support colleagues to ensure the highest standards of work.
  • Embrace new ways of working and contribute ideas for improvement.
  • Assist with coordinating team meetings, training, and social activities.

  • Make effective use of IT systems to work efficiently.
  • Suggest and implement procedural improvements.
  • Take ownership of small projects as appropriate.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or in an administrative role (desirable).
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively (essential).
  • Strong Microsoft Office and general IT skills (essential).
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills (essential).
  • Good understanding of client relationship management (essential).
