Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Nursery Room Leader to oversee the daily operations of our early childhood care environment. In this vital role, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and safe space for infants and young children, fostering their growth and development through thoughtful activities and attentive caregiving. As a leader in our nursery team, you will coordinate with staff and families to ensure high-quality care that promotes early childhood education principles while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the nursery team in delivering exceptional care and early childhood education to infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that support physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development.
- Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all children by adhering to strict safety protocols, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans.
- Ensure non contact time for staff to do observations, planning, displays, tasks etc.
- Work alongside manager and deputy to deal with parents requests, medication forms, accident forms, reporting injuries, and giving medication.
- Manage classroom routines such as meal times, nap schedules, diapering or toileting assistance, and activity transitions with efficiency and care.
- Promote inclusive practices by supporting children with special educational needs or disabilities through tailored strategies and collaboration with specialists when necessary.
- Ensure the nursery environment is clean, organized, and stimulating by managing supplies, toys, educational materials, and safety checks regularly.
- Support ongoing professional development by staying current with best practices in childhood development, classroom management, behavior management techniques, and early childhood education standards.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in daycare settings, preschools, or similar environments involving toddler care or infant care.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a nurturing environment.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices related to early education is essential.
- Familiarity with health & safety regulations including first aid certification is required; additional certifications in special education or working with children with disabilities are advantageous.
- Prior experience managing behavior management strategies in diverse childcare settings is essential.
