A global company based in Beaconsfield are looking to hire an Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team. This hybrid role will allow you to develop skills within accounting and finance with exposure to month-end.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Ledger:
    • Processing purchase invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently.
    • Matching purchase invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
    • Liaising with suppliers to resolve queries and discrepancies.
    • Preparing and processing supplier payments.
    • Maintaining accurate supplier records.
    • Reconciling supplier statements.
  • Sales Ledger:
    • Raising sales invoices and credit notes.
    • Processing customer payments and allocating them correctly.
    • Chasing outstanding debts and maintaining accurate records of collections.
    • Responding to customer queries regarding invoices and payments.
    • Maintaining accurate customer records.
  • Bank Reconciliations:
    • Performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.
    • Investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • General Accounting Support:
    • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
    • Preparing and posting journals as required.
    • Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and analysis as required.
    • Providing administrative support to the finance team.
    • Ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • AAT Qualified or Part Qualified (ACCA or CIMA) #
  • Determined to take exams towards their qualification
  • Proven experience within a similar role is beneficial
  • Strong numeracy and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including basic formulas).
  • Familiarity with accounting software
