Dovetail and Slate is seeking a Caretaker for a leading education provider in Bedford, offering a salary between £28,000 and £30,000.
The role requires the candidate to start as soon as possible and involves outdoor maintenance, general upkeep, and a variety of caretaking duties.
Candidates should have estates, caretaking, or related experience, along with knowledge of DIY; trade experience is desirable.
The position is full-time at 37 hours per week and includes responsibilities such as assisting in maintenance planning and conducting health and safety checks.
Applicants must be able to pass an Enhanced DBS check and have no previous convictions to ensure the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Main Duties

Outdoor maintenance of the site
Typical caretaking duties
General upkeep and a variety of maintenance jobs
To operate as part of the estates team in the care, security and operation of all site buildings and grounds.
To support in the daily operation and availability of all sites.
To assist the Head of Estates in preparing maintenance, development & project plans
Handle goods in and portering tasks by receiving, delivering, and maintaining records of equipment and parcels, and conducting health and safety checks
To adopt a proactive approach towards improving service standards year on year, with strong emphasis on providing a professional and memorable customer focussed experience.

Requirements

Able to start ASAP
Estates, caretaking or related experience
Knowledge of DIY
Trade experience desirable
Able to pass an Enhanced DBS check
No previous convictions
