Our client is a well-established UK-based engineering firm specialising in bespoke, high-performance pumping solutions for the water industry. Operating from a modern facility that includes a cutting-edge design studio and specialist test bay, the company also manages complete project lifecycles – from design and manufacture to installation and long-term support.

They are committed to delivering robust, long-lasting solutions and not only support their own product range but also service, repair, and refurbish equipment from other manufacturers. With a strong presence in the UK water sector and clients ranging from utilities and contractors to government agencies, they also export globally. All manufacturing is UK-based, with a dedicated team of approximately 60 staff on-site.

The Role

We're seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join the team on a permanent basis. This is a workshop-based role ideal for someone with hands-on mechanical experience and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical assembly of engineered components (pre-final assembly)
  • Bolting and aligning iron components
  • Grinding using hand tools
  • Conducting hydrostatic pressure testing

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Mechanical assembly or fitting background
  • Good understanding of hand tools and workshop practices
  • Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Pump experience is not essential – training will be provided
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience

Package:

  • Hours: Monday–Thursday, 08:15–16:45; Friday, 08:15–13:45 (37.5 hours/week)
  • Pay: £30,000-£35,000
  • Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays
