Mechanical Fitter (with Welding Experience)

Job Description:

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Mechanical Fitter with welding experience to join their team on apermanent basis. This role involves installation, maintenance, and occasional fabrication work on a range of mechanical systems and industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical fitting of pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, pipework, and associated plant

  • Basic welding and fabrication (MIG/TIG or Stick – depending on experience)

  • Working from engineering drawings and P&IDs

  • Carrying out routine maintenance and breakdown repairs

  • Ensuring all work complies with health & safety standards

  • Collaborating with engineers and site supervisors to meet deadlines

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter

  • Welding experience (TIG, MIG, or MMA) essential

  • Ability to interpret technical and mechanical drawings

  • Valid CSCS or equivalent safety card

  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)

  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Own tools and PPE (preferred)
