About the Role:

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Ecologist to lead ecological surveys and support highways and rail infrastructure projects across Northern Ireland. You will play a vital role ensuring compliance with wildlife legislation and delivering high-quality ecological assessments and reports to inform project development.

Our client works closely with public infrastructure bodies to provide expert environmental consultancy services. They are committed to sustainable development and protecting biodiversity through informed and responsible project delivery.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct ecological surveys in line with project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with UK and Northern Ireland wildlife legislation.
  • Review and produce detailed ecological reports and assessments.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Make independent decisions and manage survey activities both in the field and office.
  • Travel to sites using the provided vehicle.


What Our Client is Looking For:

  • 3 to 4 years' experience in ecological surveying, ideally within highways or rail sectors.
  • Proven ability to lead surveys and produce high-quality ecological reports.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and Northern Ireland wildlife legislation.
  • PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence; vehicle provided for site visits.
  • Flexibility to travel and work onsite as required.
