A leading not-for-profit organisation is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Finance to join its senior leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by shaping financial strategy, leading a high-performing finance and IT team, and supporting the organisation’s mission-driven work.

As Head of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring robust financial planning, compliance, and sustainability. You will play a key role in strategic decision-making, working closely with the CEO, Board, and senior leadership to support the organisation’s long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Lead financial strategy and planning aligned with organisational objectives
  • Provide insightful financial reporting and analysis to the CEO, Board, and senior team
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the corporate strategy and business plan
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and cost savings across departments

- Financial Management

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and improve financial systems, controls, and reporting processes
  • Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies for annual reporting and audits

- Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team across finance, IT, and data
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance
  • Support staff development and performance management

- Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with funders, partners, and external stakeholders
  • Ensure transparency and value-for-money in all financial communications
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support cross-functional initiatives

- IT & Information Management

  • Oversee the implementation of the organisation’s IT strategy
  • Use data and benchmarking to inform decision-making and drive efficiency

What you’ll need to succeed!

  • Fully Qualified or QBE Accountant. Fully qualified Accounting Technicians will also be considered, alongside experienced part-qualified Accountants.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years previous experience in a similar role 
  • Excellent IT and Excel skills
  • Experience of using a financial accounting package
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver a varied portfolio of work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills including planning, setting priorities and meeting deadlines
