Are you a confident communicator with strong IT and organisational skills? Our client is currently seeking a Administration Assistant to provide essential support to their Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a busy, customer-focused environment where your contributions will help ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Administration Assistant, you will support a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks, including:
Using a variety of IT systems (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, and bespoke packages) for data input, word processing, and document management.
General office duties such as filing, record keeping, dealing with post, scanning, and maintaining accurate records.
Assisting with goods deliveries, stock control, invoice and payment processing, billing, payroll, and financial tasks using both manual and digital systems.
Handling telephone and written enquiries, responding to customer requests professionally and efficiently.
Performing reception duties and supporting front-of-house services.
Managing income processing tasks including cheque handling, e-payments, banking, and reconciliations.
Supporting the wider team in achieving operational goals.
Carrying out any other administrative tasks related to the delivery of their Services, appropriate to the role and grade.
Communicating in English fluently and confidently, in line with Section 42 of the Immigration Act 2016.

Essential Skills and Attributes:
Confident use of spoken and written English.
Basic numeracy skills.
Competent IT user - especially Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet and email.
A good understanding of customer service and how to provide a positive experience.
High regard for confidentiality and data protection.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
Trustworthy, professional and reliable.
Willingness to undertake relevant training as needed.
Desirable Experience:
Previous experience in an office or business environment.
Experience working with customers.
Background in local government or a similar public service setting.
GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications in English, Mathematics and/or IT.
