Private Client Solicitor or experienced Legal Executive

The Opportunity

A long-established and highly regarded legal firm with over 70 years of experience serving the Worcestershire community with a strong private client team is seeking to appoint a private client solicitor with at least 4 years’ experience.

This role offers you the opportunity to handle a variety of work, including estate administration, drafting wills, tax planning, creating & managing trusts and preparing lasting powers of attorney. Career progression and development opportunities within the firm are available.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful private client solicitor, you will provide expert advice and guidance in the following areas:

  • Administration of estates (taxable and non-taxable)
  • Drafting standard and complex wills, including those involving trusts (eg life interest and discretionary trusts)
  • Advising on inheritance tax (IHT) and capital gains tax (CGT) implications
  • Preparing and registering lasting powers of attorney (LPAs) and enduring powers of attorney (EPAs)
  • Making deputyship applications to the Court of Protection
  • Drafting deeds of variation
  • Establishing and administering trusts
  • Supporting team members and contributing to a collaborative department culture
  • Managing client relationships and business development

Role requirements

We are seeking an individual with the following skills and qualities:

  • 4 years upwards with the ability to hit the ground running on a caseload of private client matters
  • A genuine passion for client care and delivering exceptional service
  • Organised, proactive and self-motivated with a strong desire for career growth
  • Effective time management and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Competence in IT, including Microsoft Office and internet-based tools
