- Leading the Mechanical Maintenance Department and acting as line manager to a team of Mechanical Technicians.
- Ensuring all mechanical systems and assets are maintained in line with operational standards and statutory regulations.
- Planning, resourcing, and executing scheduled shutdowns, plant upgrades, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Managing mechanical failures and faults efficiently while maintaining detailed reports and records.
- Overseeing external contractors and suppliers to ensure quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of mechanical services.
- Maintaining compliance with relevant safety regulations including PSSR and LOLER.
- Supporting plant improvements, obsolescence planning, and spare parts management.
- Assisting in audits and acting as a support to the Maintenance Manager when required.
- Collaborating with Electrical, Controls, and Instrumentation teams as necessary.
- A qualified Mechanical Engineer, holding a minimum of a Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in an industrial or process environment.
- Broad experience in the maintenance of mechanical systems, particularly rotating and high-pressure equipment.
- Familiarity with statutory mechanical testing and inspection requirements.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing both teams and contractors.
- Ability to plan and deliver maintenance activities within budget and time constraints.
- Background in Energy from Waste, Power Stations, or complex process plant environments.
- Comfortable working independently and under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Skilled at troubleshooting and improving plant reliability and efficiency.
