As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will step into classrooms to support pupils aged 2-19 with a wide range of complex needs, including severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and autism. You will work closely with class teams to deliver personalised activities, communication support, and life-skills development that help each learner progress toward greater independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide flexible classroom support, adapting quickly to different age groups and learning needs.
  • Assist with personalised learning activities and individual education plans.
  • Support communication using a Total Communication approach.
  • Help pupils develop essential life skills such as self-care, social interaction, and independence.
  • Offer physical, sensory, and mobility assistance where required.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
