Are you a caring and committed individual looking to support a child with additional needs in a nurturing school environment? Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a lovely Primary School in Bexley to recruit a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to begin in September.

About the Role:
  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 1)

  • Start Date: September

  • Contract: Full-time, term time only

  • Support Needed: 1:1 support for a child in Year 1 with Special Educational Needs

You will play a key role in supporting a child in Year 1 with specific learning and communication needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and feel part of the school community. The role will involve close collaboration with teaching staff and the SENCO to deliver personalised support and learning strategies.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach

  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly in EYFS or KS1 (desirable)

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and staff

  • A genuine passion for helping children to thrive
