Venatu Recrutment are proud to annouce that a bespoke client of ours within the bespoke food industry is now looking for a Production Manager to join them at their site in Bicester. The client is a leading high-quality, bespoke food manufacturer who are well established having been trading 30 years and pride themsleves on the quality they demonstrate and commintent to delivering excellence. Due to their consistent growth and expansion, they're now looking for a Production Manager to join them and tooversee planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes from concept to launch.

The type of candidate they're looking for has come from a Chef backgroud and has progressed/since worked as a Production Manager in the same field, ideally in premium, branded resturant!

This is a full-time role paying £45k - £55k DOE and is a 40 hours per week with working hours of 7AM - 4PM Monday to Friday!

The main purpose of this position is to oversee planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes from concept to launch, to ensure goods are produced efficiently to the correct volume meeting agreed commercial and quality specifications and to ensure all food produced meets regulatory level of compliance.

Job Duties included:

  • Ensure production schedule is completed is line with the agreed customer demand, budget and quality standards.
  • Coordinate staff resources and raw materials to ensure production is carried out in a smooth and effective way daily and for new product launches
  • Ensure all products are made to the agreed customer standard
  • In conjunction with Operations Director, develop, monitor and control operational performance metrics to ensure production is completed within the budget and to agreed client specification.
  • Develop, review and improve processes and procedures, exploring continuous improvement techniques to drive efficiencies, compliance and product quality.
  • Explore continuous improvement techniques to drive operations efficiency and quality
  • Take the lead in managing and motivating, directing the facilities production workforce through their daily roles. Ensure enough staff are available to perform jobs to the required standard and staff are trained to deliver daily roles
  • Carry out regular briefings/meetings with employees on weekly and monthly performance achievement and set out short/medium term targets and plans for improvements and/or training needs
  • Ensure the continued development of team members by conducting regular reviews and appraisals, setting targets for achievement.
  • Participate in audit programs to ensure all standard procedures are being adhered to at all times and any non-conformances are investigated and closed out
  • Ensure the production facility and daily operational compliance meet all relevant legal, technical accreditation and food legislation and hygiene levels
  • Liaise with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment is in working order and is maintained at the pre-determined frequency
  • To work in a team-based environment where all managers/employees work together for the good of the business
  • Via both formal and informal meetings, ensure that your line managers are kept updated on any opportunities or risk that could affect the business.

The type of candidate they're looking for:

  • Degree or equivalent in Food Science/Operations/Engineering
  • 2 years + as a Production Manager!
  • Come from a Chef backgroud, ideally from a premium, branded resturant
  • Able to analyse data to form basis of decision
  • Highly motivated, results orientated and solution driven
  • Able to express and communicate a vision and set goals for individuals to aspire to
  • Knowledge of all relevant food safety legislation (Food Safety Level 3)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident in the use of CCP, HACCP and Salsa principles
  • Strongly self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of the team
  • Able to motivate and manage people with varying skill levels and relish the challenge of working in a growing and demanding kitchen production environment
