Graduate Controls Technician

Location: Bidford-on-Avon

Salary: 30,000

Our Client are market leaders in the food handling industry supplying equipment to blue chip customers across the world. Using the latest design technology they're focused on providing creative and cost-effective solutions for their Customers. An opportunity has now arisen for a Graduate Controls Technician to join their team.

Responsibilities:

Working closely within the technical team to help to specify electrical components for production and R&D projects

Modifying and creating wiring diagrams using AutoCAD/EPLAN on a daily and weekly basis to fulfil the production needs

Work with the design team to create electronic back plate drawings

Prepare Bills of Materials on each machine build

Modifying existing PLC & HMI programs in Omron, B&R, Siemens & Allen Bradley

Installation of programs and screen designs into each production machine with signal and controls-based testing and fault finding during the PDI process

Production of user manuals for each production machine on a daily and weekly basis

Generate documentation packages for our customers to help users to work the machinery

Remote customer support to modify programs and features/functions to cater for individual customer needs and improvements

Attention to detail is essential due to short manufacturing lead times

Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly

Enjoys working in a fast-paced exciting environment

Perform other duties as assigned

About you:

Degree educated in Electrical Engineer, Electronic Engineering or related discipline

Strong IT skills and confidence - MS Office and Excel, with database skills/usage an advantage

Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams

Pneumatic circuits
