Teaching Assistant - Specialist SEMH School
Location: NG13, Nottinghamshire
Pay: 90-100 per day (via PAYE - no umbrella deductions)
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025
Hours: 08:30 - 16:15, Monday to Friday | Term Time Only
Candidate Location: Commutable from Bingham, Lowdham, Burton Joyce, Cotgrave, Melton Mowbray, Radcliffe-on-Trent and other surrounding areas.

Long Term Futures is excited to offer an opportunity for compassionate and resilient individuals to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in the NG13 area of Nottinghamshire.
Set in a therapeutic farm-based environment, this independent school supports children and young people aged 7-18 who face emotional and behavioural challenges. The school offers a strengths-based approach, integrating outdoor learning and animal-assisted therapy into its curriculum.
Due to expansion, the school are looking to appoint:
- 1x Teaching Assistant to start ASAP
- 1x Teaching Assistant to start in September 2025
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to students with SEMH needs.
- Build strong, trusting relationships to help students feel safe and understood.
- Work closely with teachers and therapists to support learning and emotional development.
- Help implement strategies that encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
- Promote a calm and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
We are particularly keen to hear from those with experience in:
- Care settings (e.g. residential care, child/adult support, social care)
- Support roles (mental health, learning disabilities, family support)
- Youth work, coaching, or similar people-facing professions
