Robertson Bell is pleased to be supporting a prominent government organisation to recruit an Assistant Finance Business Partners on a permanent basis. These roles are key to supporting a wide range of workplace projects, with a focus on project accounting, financial analysis, and business partnering with internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, you will:

  • Produce management accounts and support budgeting across high-value projects.
  • Partner with programme teams and stakeholders to monitor spend, ensure accurate reporting, and drive financial accountability.
  • Advise on the treatment of project costs and lead on reconciliations, forecasting, and project closure.
  • Support client billing and income recovery, keeping accruals accurate and controlled.
  • Collaborate across finance to streamline processes, prepare key journals, and support audits.
  • Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to inform decision-making.

You’ll join a forward-thinking team within a major central government body that values innovation, inclusivity, and professional development. The successful candidate will also benefit from a pension over 25%, 26 days annual leave and hybrid working, requiring you to go into the office one to two days per week.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be part-qualified or a finalist-level accountant (CCAB or equivalent); full qualification is desirable.
  • Bring strong experience in month-end management accounting.
  • Have a solid understanding of project accounting fundamentals; experience with facilities or estates management is desirable.
  • Be confident engaging with a range of stakeholders and comfortable working in a dynamic, project-led environment.
  • Be solutions-focused, with strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
