Greenwell Gleeson is excited to bring a truly great opportunity to your attention. We are partnering with a vibrant, fast-growing and values-led tech-enabled Healthcare services business. This privately owned business is based in Birmingham and is recruiting for a newly created position of Financial Controller.

The business is already well-established and highly profitable and seeking to treble its turnover and profitability in the next three years. The business is experiencing significant organic growth and will look to augment this with acquisitions and potentially undertake debt or equity raises to support growth.

This is a brand-new position that will report into a high-calibre CFO. The professional will oversee the management of the existing finance team and will play a crucial role in taking the business to the next level alongside the senior leadership team. Key to this will be ensuring the provision of accurate timely management KPI and financial information, incisive analysis to drive top-line, gross margin and bottom-line profitability and critically taking the lead on continually improving system and control processes.

Reporting into the CFO, responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and presenting the monthly management accounts to include profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow.

  • Provide analysis and insight into the monthly management account numbers for inclusion in a monthly Board Pack.

  • Support with the preparation of a monthly Board Pack.

  • Prepare the annual financial statements and liaise with the auditors and other external advisers alongside the CFO.

  • Provide the financial information required to produce tax computations.

  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for management review.

  • Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making at the Board level.

  • Actively participate in the development and execution of the company's business plan.

  • Monitor key financial metrics and implement measures to enhance profitability.

  • Identify areas of control weakness and provide control and system improvement initiatives for review and adoption.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support.

Qualifications and Experience

  • ACCA / ACA or CIMA qualified

  • Commercially focussed with the ability to develop and adapt finance procedures as the business moves through change.

  • Attention to detail, and an eye for opportunity in challenging costs.

  • Ability to make informed, data driven decisions.

  • Proficiency in financial software.

  • Advance Excel skills and Financial modelling capability.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
