We are thrilled to be working with an established, well known business based in North Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of key accounting processes and play a vital role in ensuring financial integrity across the business. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders - including auditors, tax teams, and business leaders - you'll help drive accuracy, compliance, and improvement in all areas of finance.

This role comes with an annual salary of up to 55,000.00 plus car allowance.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Preparing and posting month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, recharges, and provisions (including restructuring and contingent liabilities).
Directly managing and developing one finance team member, overseeing day-to-day work and supporting their growth.
Managing balance sheet reconciliations, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
Overseeing monthly P&L reporting and supporting the preparation of financial statements in compliance with UK-IFRS.
Leading on intercompany reconciliations and group reporting submissions.
Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data and analysis.
Conducting monthly reviews with budget holders and business controllers to explain variances and influence decision-making.
Monitoring changes in accounting standards and helping shape internal processes to ensure full compliance.
Collaborating with teams across finance, HR, and operations (including offshore finance) to ensure accurate financial information.
Identifying areas for process improvement, enhancing standard operating procedures, and supporting internal controls development.
Supporting internal and external audits, responding to queries, and ensuring audit readiness.

Candidate Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:

Professionally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail.
Experience working within a financial control or compliance-focused role.
Comfortable analysing large datasets and identifying key trends.
A confident communicator who can work cross-functionally and influence non-finance stakeholders.
A proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement and best practice.
