We are seeking a commissioning engineer / field service engineer with experience in the water / water treatment sector to support clients in the Midlands area. The role is home based with travel to client sites
The successful candidate will have previous practical experience of Wastewater / Water treatment, Aeration Control and Blower staging (pump staging). This is an electrical NOT mechanical role. You will ideally have PLC experience
The role is offered with a base salary of 50 - 70K+, depending on your level of experience. It also comes with the following payments:
40 GPB per diem when travelling to a customer site
All travel expenses including car rental, hotel and flights
55p per mile when using own car
Overtime payment

Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site servicing, repairs, and maintenance of water treatment equipment (specifically blowers and pumps). Electrical
- Optimising control systems and automation systems (aeration)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Provide training and support to clients on the proper use of equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and parts used and prepare field service reports.
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commissiong engineer, Field Service Technician or similar role.
- Strong electrical aptitude with the ability to work with various tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) & VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective customer interaction.
- A valid driving licence is essential for travel to client sites.
- A valid passport
Qualifications
- Ideally an apprenticeship in electrical maintenance or similar
- PLC experience (ideally)
