As Mechanical Feld Service Engineer with a background in procession engineering you will join a global strong maintenance team, but work independently to representing the company at Customer premises.

As a mechanically bias field service engineer this role supports the field service team. As a mechanical field based engineer this precision engineering role covers installation, service, repair, and calibration of the company’s

precision measuring equipment. 

REMOTE base  - Coverage  - customer base in the WEST Midlands / OR WEST YORKSHIRE of the UK (to be discussed)

Ideal location to be based  - WEST midlands or Yorkshire

Key Responsibilities

Visit customer sites to: 

  • Install precision measuring equipment. 
  • Complete service and calibration work. 
  • Undertake trouble shooting including fault-finding, diagnosis and rectification.
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and kept in a clean and tidy condition.
  • To apply the Health, Safety & Environmental Policy

Qualifications and Skills

  • Background in Mechanical Engineering / maintenance or similar
  • Experience of fault finding on mechanical/electrical systems. 
  • Background in precision engineering e.g. with tools and equipment like

CMM, Profilometer or Micrometers & Calipers or Optical Comparators or Air Gauges or CNC Machines or Diamond Turning Machines or Electrical Discharge Machines or Autocollimator or Inclinometers or Vibration Isolation Tables or sensor systems (pressure temp etc) or digital scale systems, optical measuring systems, hardness testing machines, coordinate measuring machines, vision measuring systems, fixture systems  - just for example

  • Be able to demonstrate compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation.
  • Good IT skills. 
  • Full valid driving license. ESSENTIAL  - (field based role with car)
  • Strong time management skills. 
  • Have good interpersonal skills.
