This established, mid-sized practice, 24-strong and expanding, is known for delivering high quality developments across a range of sectors including transportation, education, community, workplace, and residential. Their portfolio reflects a balance of creative design and technical precision, underpinned by a commitment to sustainability and contextual sensitivity.

Senior Architectural Technologist Job Overview

  • Lead and oversee the technical delivery of projects across all RIBA Stages 1-6
  • Prepare, coordinate, and manage detailed working drawings, technical packages, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Translate design concepts into robust, buildable solutions while maintaining design integrity
  • Liaise confidently with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams throughout project stages
  • Work across a diverse portfolio including education, residential, commercial, and transport sectors
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the technical team
  • Contribute to design reviews and promote best practice in sustainable and innovative construction techniques
  • Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, technical standards, and quality assurance procedures
  • Play an active role in supporting the strategic delivery of projects on time and within budget

Senior Architectural Technologist Job Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Architectural Technology or equivalent discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in a UK-based practice
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD (essential)
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign (advantageous)
  • Excellent technical and detailing ability, with a strong eye for design quality and accuracy
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction methodologies
  • Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage workload effectively, working both independently and collaboratively
  • Based within a commutable distance of central Birmingham
