Senior Architectural Technologist Job Overview
- Lead and oversee the technical delivery of projects across all RIBA Stages 1-6
- Prepare, coordinate, and manage detailed working drawings, technical packages, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD
- Translate design concepts into robust, buildable solutions while maintaining design integrity
- Liaise confidently with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams throughout project stages
- Work across a diverse portfolio including education, residential, commercial, and transport sectors
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the technical team
- Contribute to design reviews and promote best practice in sustainable and innovative construction techniques
- Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, technical standards, and quality assurance procedures
- Play an active role in supporting the strategic delivery of projects on time and within budget
Senior Architectural Technologist Job Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Architectural Technology or equivalent discipline
- Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in a UK-based practice
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD (essential)
- Working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign (advantageous)
- Excellent technical and detailing ability, with a strong eye for design quality and accuracy
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction methodologies
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage workload effectively, working both independently and collaboratively
- Based within a commutable distance of central Birmingham
Senior Architectural Technologist Salary & Benefits
- Competitive salary of 40,000 - 50,000, depending on experience
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays and Christmas shutdown
