Job Title: Key Account Manager - Chipboard & MDF

Industry Sector: Wood Panel Products, OSB, Chipboard, Lumber, Plywood, LVL, Partideboard, MDF, Builders Merchants, House Builders, Timber Frame Manufacturers, Shop Fitters, Contractors, Construction, DIY and Furniture End Users, Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Sales Manager

Area to be covered: UK

Remuneration: £60,000 - £75,000 Neg. + 25% bonus

Benefits: £7,000 Car Allowance & Full BenefitsThe role of the Area Sales Manager - Chipboard & MDF will involve:

  • Field sales key account management role, selling a manufactured range of OSB, chipboard and MDF based wood panel products
  • Responsible for circa 5 key customer accounts (2 builders merchants could be national or independent and 3 panel importer distributors who buy in bulk and sell to small pallets to the independent merchants)
  • Revenue responsibility for approx. £15m-£20m
  • Existing customer accounts will be stable and performing within the company expected scope
  • 100% account development role
  • Visiting head office and also branches with field sales team as required
  • Creating framework agreements
  • Developing the products range within customers
  • Forecasting, pricing and account planning
  • Customer facing role, ideally 4 days a week on the road, although in reality may be 50/50 dur to high volume of administration

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Chipboard & MDF with:

  • 5 years+ proven track record of account management, ideally key account management within the construction industry, ideally building products
  • Builders merchants and distributor customer prior experience may be beneficial but not essential
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence at executive and C-level
  • Forecasting and account planning capability
  • Product knowledge of chipboard & MDF panels is not essential, as full product training will be provided
  • Outstanding attitude, our client is looking for "can-do" approach, proactive nature, intelligence and roll sleeves up mentality
  • Looking for longevity in career, no job hoppers
