Project Director, Renewable Connections 132kVPower Networks, Transmission & DistributionHybrid / Solihull B37 7ES £100.000 to £120,000 plus car / allowance + healthcare + bonus + pensionJob Ref: J113863The Project Director will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, commercial control and successful completion of large scale, complex projects.The role would oversee either a single large (>£50 million) project or multiple smaller projects. You will be involved in managing all aspects of the project life cycle, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication. You will lead a team of professionals and collaborate with various departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.Your Key responsibilities:* Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.* Define project milestones and establish project governance structures.* Identify and assess potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.* Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial accountability.* Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-saving measures where applicable.* Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management.* Oversee the execution of substation projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and quality standards.* Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement corrective actions as needed.* Conduct regular site visits to assess project status and address any issues.* Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory authorities, and internal teams.You will have: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field or equivalent time in a senior position* Significant experience in project management in the electricity sector with a focus on complex substation or renewable generation projects.* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.* In-depth knowledge of substation or balance of plant on BESS, Solar or Onshore Wind projects including design, procurement, construction and commissioning of single sites projects at £25 million and above.* Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).* Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory standards related to substation projects top DNO or National Grid Electricity Transmission standard.* Full UK driving licenceThis work is hybrid, with 2 days per week in a regional office or at client sites or on a construction site.
