- Represent Birmingham YOS in the criminal court setting, liaising with young people, families, legal representatives and partner agencies.
- Assess safeguarding and risk concerns, prepare formal pre-sentence and other court reports.
- Manage a caseload of young people subject to court orders and deliver rehabilitation programmes.
- Provide restorative approaches that support victims and promote accountability.
- Attend court, panel meetings and contribute to multi-agency working.
- Work on a rota that includes Saturdays and Bank Holidays.
- Experience working with children or young people involved in the youth justice system.
- Strong understanding of criminal legislation as it affects young people.
- Skilled in risk assessment, safeguarding procedures and restorative justice principles.
- Confident communicator, able to present in formal settings and advocate for young people.
- Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in a high-demand environment.
- Work in a collaborative, multi-agency environment.
- Help deliver positive change for vulnerable young people.
- Be part of a team driven by values of inclusion, high support and challenge.
- Gain experience in court-focused youth justice practice.
