Quality Technician Trackside Support

Shift Times: Work across early, afternoon, and night shifts on a 3-week rotation

Pay Rate: £13.23
Location: Birmingham B40 1AB

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a proactive and adaptable Customer Quality Representative to serve as the on-site liaison between the customer and internal teams. This role is key in ensuring that product quality and logistics issues are promptly addressed, and customer expectations are clearly communicated and met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report product quality and logistics concerns from the customer site to relevant internal plant personnel in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and/or carry out containment activities at the customer location.
  • Provide holiday and absence cover as required, potentially at short notice and across all shift patterns, both on- and off-site.
  • Understand customer requirements and expectations in detail and communicate them effectively to internal teams.
  • Support production team training to align with customer quality standards.
  • Conduct internal audits as necessary.
  • Generate clear, informative reports and summaries, acting as a key communication bridge between the customer and internal teams.
  • Receive and relay customer concerns during shift operations.
  • Apply structured problem-solving techniques to address internal and external quality issues, with support from cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the quality technician role across different areas of the business.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings as appropriate.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to achieve daily goals.
  • Confident decision-making based on data analysis and risk evaluation.
  • Strong team collaboration and communication skills across all business levels.
  • Ability to constructively challenge established practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Full, valid driving licence.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to professional growth.
  • Flexible and responsive to travel and shift changes at short notice.
  • Understanding of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
