Job Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Layout Designer to join our residential client’s team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing efficient, functional, and aesthetically pleasing layouts for residential projects. This role involves collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure optimal space utilization and compliance with building regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Concept Development: Collaborate with architects and clients to understand project goals and develop initial layout concepts.

Design Drafting: Create detailed floor plans, elevations, and 3D models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp.

Space Planning: Optimize room layouts, furniture placements, and circulation patterns for functionality, efficiency, and aesthetics.

Code Compliance: Ensure that designs adhere to local zoning laws, building codes, and industry regulations.

Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with engineers, interior designers, and project managers to integrate structural and mechanical elements into layouts.

Client Presentations: Prepare and present design proposals to clients, making modifications based on their feedback.

Material & Cost Consideration: Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to incorporate cost-effective and sustainable design solutions.

Design Revisions: Update drawings and documentation as per client preferences, regulatory requirements, or site conditions.

Project Coordination: Support the construction team by providing accurate layouts and technical details for on-site execution.

Industry Research: Stay up-to-date on modern construction techniques, new materials, and emerging design trends in residential construction.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Layout Designer in residential construction.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of architectural principles and space planning.
