We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead the financial management and reporting across multiple operational areas. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance and best practices while providing strategic financial insights to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Oversight: Direct the financial management of various sectors, including fundraising, marketing, communications, and charitable activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior management to deliver essential financial information and support budget preparation.
- Performance Measurement: Identify key financial indicators and generate performance reports for trading and fundraising efforts.
- Budget Consolidation: Compile local budgets into a comprehensive group budget, ensuring adherence to corporate deadlines.
- Financial Planning: Lead budget planning, re-forecasting, cash flow projections, and reporting for both UK and international operations.
- Team Development: Mentor and guide finance teams, ensuring high performance and timely responses to organisational needs.
- Training and Support: Provide training and ongoing support to budget holders on financial policies and procedures.
- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with donor regulations and offer guidance on financial matters to program staff.
- Audit Liaison: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to maintain robust auditing processes.
- International Transactions: Oversee efficient international transfers and payments while managing foreign currency positions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across various operational areas.
- Ad-Hoc Reporting: Prepare financial reports to support national and international initiatives as needed.
- Relevant financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, CCAB/CIMA) with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Extensive experience in senior financial management within a multi-cost center organization with diverse income streams.
- Proven ability to produce consolidated management and statutory accounts.
- Knowledge of charity finance and accounting standards (e.g., SORP) is desirable.
- Familiarity with the Charities Act, Company Law, and charity VAT regulations is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to develop relationships with stakeholders and external agencies.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with leadership and finance colleagues.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage workloads and meet short- and long-term deadlines.
