ABC Teachers is seeking an experienced and dedicated A-Level Biology Supply Teacher for a long-term position at a reputable secondary school in Edgbaston. This exciting opportunity begins in September 2025 and is expected to continue until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of a permanent role for the right candidate.

Situated in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, this ambitious and well-respected secondary school has a strong academic focus, particularly in the sciences. Known for its excellent A-Level outcomes, modern science laboratories, and a supportive leadership team, the school provides a positive learning and working environment. Students are motivated, and staff are committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging A-Level Biology lessons

  • Plan, prepare and assess student work in line with curriculum expectations

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support academic development

  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and student behaviour

  • Collaborate with the science department to contribute to curriculum development

 

Requirements

The successful Biology Teacher will have;

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK

  • Specialism in Biology with experience teaching at A-Level

  • Strong knowledge of the AQA or OCR A-Level Biology syllabus

  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills

  • A passion for inspiring young scientists and promoting academic excellence

  • Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)

*All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
