Smart Education is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistants to work across a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) Schools in the Birmingham area.
These roles offer an exciting opportunity to support pupils with a variety of needs, including MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs). You’ll be working with children and young people ranging from primary age to post-16, helping them to access education and develop essential life skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Job requirements:• Minimum of 6 months UK experience working within an SEN school setting
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
• A valid Child and/or Adult DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to process one)
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow school policies

Role responsibilities:• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons
• Encouraging and supporting the development of social and communication skills
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
• Helping with personal care and physical support where required
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
