Job Title: Assistant Block Manager

Location: Barnt Green, Birmingham

Salary: £28,000

Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm

We’re seeking a proactive and organized Assistant Block Manager to support the management of our client residential developments. You’ll work closely with an experienced Block Manager and Accounts team to deliver a high standard of service to our residents and leaseholders.

About the Role:

  • Assist the Block Manager with the day-to-day management of a portfolio of 25 developments (c.500 units).
  • Provide first-line support to residents, leaseholders, and contractors.
  • Help coordinate maintenance and repair works, including obtaining quotes, issuing works orders and monitoring progress.
  • Support the preparation and management of service charge budgets, invoices and supplier payments.
  • Maintain accurate records, compliance schedules and health & safety documentation for each building.
  • Attend residents’ meetings or AGMs (as required) alongside the Block Manager.
  • Ensure effective communication between the property team, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Assist with insurance renewals, claims and other administrative tasks.

About You:

  • Previous experience in property management, lettings, or estate/block management is desirable but not essential — training provided.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to priorities workload and manage multiple deadlines.
  • IT literate (MS Office and property management software experience a plus).
  • A team player, eager to support colleagues and learn on the job.
