A secondary school in South Birmingham, B10, is looking to appoint an experienced IT Technician. The role is to start as soon as possible. The role is full time Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm, with the potential to go permanent for the right individual.
Your new role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable, and suitably experienced IT Technician. You will be working alongside the IT Manager to ensure the ICT systems are operational. You will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day running of the school network, associate devices and responding to first line and second line support requests in a timely and professional manner.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you should have:
- Experience and/ or passion for IT, experience and/ or passion for current and emerging cloud technologies, a knowledge of basic desktop and end user support
- Have excellent troubleshooting skills, backed by a clear, analytical approach to problem solving.
- Be self-motivated, with a can-do attitude and a strong commitment to delivering results on time and to a high quality in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
- Can self-manage, organise, and prioritise tasks and work under pressure during troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Be professionally presented, flexible and adaptable, and be able to handle the various pressures and demands associated with working in a highly customer-focussed ICT support role.
- Be a confident communicator and your excellent verbal and written communication skills will enable you to confidently deal with all levels of stakeholders and internal colleagues.
- Ideally, have significant, recent experience in a similar client-facing, IT Service and Support role, preferably within an educational setting.
