Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for Paralegals to work in the Investigation and Supervision Department at a regulatory body in England and Wales.Hours of work - full time 35 hours a week, Monday to FridayWork arrangements - hybrid work - one to two days a week in the office (office attendance is mandatory, this cannot be fully remote. At present it is one day a week but candidates must be able to come in for a second day if required)Location - BirminghamContract length - The assignment will be for around 22 weeksPay rate - £18.51 per hour PAYERole PurposeRole holders will support our work within Investigation and Supervision, investigating solicitors and others we regulate.Main duties and responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision and guidance of Investigation Officers and Investigation Managers, swiftly becoming self-supporting and demonstrating own initiative.
  • Perform key tasks, including reviewing documents to highlighting key information and preparing detailed chronologies, obtaining and analysing publicly available information and corresponding with key stakeholders.
  • Draft a variety of different documents, making appropriate recommendations.
  • Support the efficient management, collation and storage of evidence.
  • Deliver on other tasks and projects to support the objectives of Investigation Officers and Investigation Managers.

Person Specification

  • Qualifying Law Degree or equivalent
  • Experience of conducting open source research and of dealing with legal and other technical documentation
  • Flexible and resilient with experience of working in a high pressure and changing environment
  • Highly organised and reliable, with the ability to self-manage and prioritise tasks
  • High level of literacy and numeracy and the ability to understand complex information
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently, with close attention to detail
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Able to use a range of IT packages - for example Excel/ Word
  • Able to analyse information and documents, pinpoint key evidence and highlight appropriate options and recommendations
  • Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
