Are you a skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with complex additional needs? Aspire People is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist resource base within a mainstream primary school in North Edgbaston.
About the Role:
* Full-time, long-term position starting from 1st September 2025
* Supporting pupils with significant additional needs, including non-verbal communication, Down syndrome, and complex learning difficulties
* Working in a well-established resource base that supports pupils from Reception to Year 6
* Up to 13 pupils in the room at a time, supported in smaller groups for focused learning and interaction
* Delivering and supporting small-group activities, play-based learning, and individual interventions as directed by teaching and SEND staff
About You:
* Strong experience supporting children with SEND, especially non-verbal pupils and those with Down syndrome
* Confident using or supporting alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables
* Able to engage children in small group activities and promote inclusion and participation across a wide age range (Reception-Year 6)
* Resilient, nurturing, and calm with a proactive and adaptable approach to changing needs
* Passionate about making a meaningful difference in children's educational and emotional development
