Job Title: Lead Monitoring Engineer/Surveyor

Location: Nationwide

Salary: Dependant on experience/qualifications

Hours: Full time – Monday – Friday 9:00-17:00 (midweek and weekend overtime available)

About the role

We're looking for an experienced and dedicated Lead Monitoring Surveyor / Engineers, nationwide. This is a fantastic opportunity for those with at least 3 years experience of delivering surveying, engineering or monitoring experience.

As a Lead Monitoring Engineer / Surveyor, you will oversee and deliver a range of structural and geotechnical monitoring activities using specialist technology and software. You'll manage projects on-site, lead data analysis and reporting, and act as a mentor for junior team members. This is a key leadership role offering the opportunity to shape technical delivery and contribute to the continued success of our rail sector operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of monitoring projects, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency across all stages.
  • Conduct and manage structural and environmental monitoring using a variety of specialist equipment and software.
  • Oversee geotechnical monitoring where applicable, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Analyse complex data sets and produce high-quality reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and surveyors, contributing to their technical development.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Ensure work is delivered to high safety and quality standards, in line with industry regulations.
  • Support business needs through flexibility in travel and on-site presence nationwide.

Requirements:

  • Several years' experience in engineering, surveying, or monitoring within rail or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of monitoring equipment, data processing, and geotechnical principles.
  • Relevant qualifications (HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience leading site teams or managing monitoring projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-standard software.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away as required.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
