About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading property developer/main contractor, supporting the delivery of a major Build to Rent (BTR) scheme in Birmingham city centre. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing sector within residential construction, offering long-term stability and the chance to work on a landmark multi-unit development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all cost and procurement aspects of the BTR project from pre-construction through to final account.

  • Prepare and issue subcontract tenders, conduct commercial negotiations, and manage valuations and variations.

  • Work collaboratively with the design and delivery teams to drive value engineering and cost efficiency.

  • Provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting to the Commercial Manager.

  • Ensure contractual compliance and mitigate risk across the supply chain.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly CVRs and project financial reports.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in residential or BTR construction.

  • Strong working knowledge of JCT Design & Build contracts.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing packages on large-scale developments.

  • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

  • Proficient in MS Excel and cost management software (e.g. COINS, CATO, Causeway).

  • Ambitious, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator.
