We're working in partnership with a welcoming primary school that has a dedicated Specialist Resource Base for pupils with higher level SEND needs - including ASD, PMLD, SEMH and complex learning difficulties. The school is seeking a resilient, patient and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September and make a lasting impact.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups within the SRB, supporting pupils with EHCPs
  • Implement tailored strategies under guidance of the SENCO and class teacher
  • Help manage sensory, emotional and behavioural needs in a positive, consistent way
  • Collaborate closely with external therapists and support staff
  • Use visuals, communication aids and structure to promote independence and learning

What They're Looking For:

  • Prior experience supporting children with higher needs SEN (e.g. ASD, SEMH, SLD or PMLD)
  • A calm, nurturing and adaptable approach
  • Team player who's confident working alongside professionals and parents
  • Understanding of safeguarding and SEND best practice
  • Manual handling or Team Teach training is desirable, but not essential
