Are you a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term role where you can make a real impact?
We're working closely with a supportive mainstream primary school in central Birmingham, seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their specialist resource base. This provision supports children with a range of additional needs, including autism and speech & language difficulties, in a small, nurturing environment.
Your Role:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist with classroom routines and adapt learning tasks to individual needs
- Use visuals, routines and sensory strategies to help children thrive
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress
- Encourage independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing
We're looking for someone with:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND (ASD, communication needs, sensory processing)
- A calm, patient and positive approach
- Confidence using visual aids, PECs or Makaton (desirable)
