We're looking for a patient and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in the heart of Birmingham. This is a full-time role supporting pupils who require tailored, consistent support to access learning in a small-group environment. You'll be joining a committed and supportive team, making a genuine impact every day. This is a long term opportunity with potential to be made permanent for the right candidate.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including autism and speech & language needs.
- Assisting the class teacher in adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Helping to create a calm, structured, and engaging learning environment.
- Using visual aids and structured routines to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
Who We're Looking For Someone That:
- Has previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
- Understands how to build positive relationships through consistency and encouragement.
- Is calm, reliable, and confident when managing challenging behaviours.
- Works well as part of a team and is always ready to get stuck in.
