Business Support Officer - Attendance & Admissions
Salary: 25,584-27,269 per annum (Pro Rata: 22,569.93-24,056.42)
Hours: 37 per week | Contract: Term Time + 2 weeks, Permanent
Location: B7

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Business Support Officer to oversee and coordinate key aspects of attendance and admissions at our secondary school. This is a vital front-facing role that supports the smooth running of the school and helps ensure every student has access to education.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and record daily student attendance using the school's MIS system

  • Follow up on absences, liaising with parents/carers and external agencies where necessary

  • Support the admissions process, from initial enquiries through to enrolment

  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in line with GDPR

  • Produce attendance reports and contribute to safeguarding meetings

  • Provide general administrative support to the wider school office as required



What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a school office or similar administrative setting

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and school MIS systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor, or equivalent)

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and professionally

  • A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach

  • A valid enhanced DBS is essential
