Market 36 Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Production Operative to join their busy and expanding team in Bishop’s Stortford.

This is a hands-on position within a manufacturing/operations centre, ideal for someone with previous production or assembly experience and a keen eye for detail. You'll be involved in the preparation and assembly of various machine accessories, sub-assemblies, and engineered products in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble machine accessories such as baskets, hose connectors, and trolleys
  • Build sub-assemblies and spare parts for engineering orders
  • Prepare and media blast tanks under controlled conditions
  • Clean, prep, and cure tanks using bonding and oven processes
  • Manufacture and finish sub-assemblies for the main production line
  • Support with stock management and kit replenishment

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience considered in lieu of formal education
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions
  • Strong understanding of process control, quality standards, and time management
  • Experience with hand tools and production processes (grit blasting or powder coating is a plus)
  • A practical, hands-on individual with strong communication skills and a self-motivated attitude

Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing floor environment
  • Regular lifting (up to 25kg), bending, walking, and standing
  • Full manual dexterity and visual acuity required
