My client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their team, reporting to the Accountant and Senior Management. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and proficiency in accounting software. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing invoices, managing petty cash, and preparing financial reports to support management decisions.
Day-to-day of the role:- Maintaining Financial Records: Accurately recording transactions such as sales and purchases to ensure financial transparency.
- Processing Invoices: Handling payment runs, verifying invoices, and ensuring timely payments to suppliers.
- Managing Petty Cash: Keeping track of minor expenses and ensuring proper accounting for these transactions.
- Preparing Financial Reports: Creating essential documents to inform management decisions.
- Setting Up New Clients: Ensuring all client data is accurately entered and maintained.
- Reconciling Bank Accounts: Ensuring all transactions are accurately reflected in company accounts.
- AAT Qualified or qualified by experience.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
- Understanding of and adherence to data protection legislation (GDPR).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent organisational skills with a methodical approach to work and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to develop good working relationships and manage a varied workload with multiple deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Proficient with databases, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Sage.
