This AP (Alternative Provision)is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Childcare Tutor (qualified or unqualified) to join our team in Blackpool, Lancashire. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students within our nurturing and supportive independent Alternative Provision (AP) setting.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated individual to work with our students on a part-time basis as a Childcare Tutor. We welcome applications from experienced qualified tutors in childcare or related fields, as well as individuals who may be unqualified but possess relevant experience or a strong interest in supporting young people in a childcare context. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on the lives of our students, helping them to develop essential skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering engaging and supportive tutoring sessions in childcare-related topics to small groups or individual students.
  • Adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students within an Alternative Provision environment.
  • Providing guidance and support to students as they work towards relevant qualifications or develop practical skills in childcare.
  • Creating a positive and encouraging learning environment that fosters student engagement and confidence.
  • Monitoring and tracking student progress, providing feedback to students and staff.
  • Liaising effectively with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Contributing to the development of learning materials and resources.
  • For unqualified candidates: a willingness to learn and undertake relevant training and professional development in childcare or tutoring.
  • Adhering to all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding.

The Ideal Candidate (Qualified):

  • Relevant qualification in Childcare (e.g., Level 2, Level 3 or above).
  • Experience in delivering tutoring or training in childcare or related areas.
  • Strong knowledge of childcare principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual needs.
  • Experience working with young people who may have diverse learning needs.

The Ideal Candidate (Unqualified):

  • Relevant experience working with children or young people in a childcare, educational, or support setting.
  • A strong interest in childcare and a desire to support young people's learning.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm and a proactive approach to learning and development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
