The Opportunity:
We are looking for a passionate individual to join us as a SEN Teacher. We welcome applications from experienced qualified SEN teachers (QTS or equivalent) as well as talented individuals who may be unqualified but possess a strong passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and a desire to develop their skills in this rewarding area. Comprehensive support and professional development will be provided for unqualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with students across the school with a variety of special educational needs, including:
- Learning Difficulties (e.g., Dyslexia, Dyspraxia)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- ADHD
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Providing differentiated instruction and support within the classroom.
- Delivering targeted interventions and small group support.
- Monitoring and assessing student progress and providing feedback.
- Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies.
- Contributing to the school's SEN policy.
- Maintaining accurate records.
- Creating an inclusive learning environment.
- For unqualified candidates: a commitment to professional development and training.
The Ideal Candidate (Qualified):
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with students with SEND.
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Commitment to inclusive education.
The Ideal Candidate (Unqualified):
- Strong academic background (degree in relevant field preferred).
- Experience working with children/young people (educational or support setting).
- Passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
