Heres the role in a nutshell:

  • Youll lead a team of four buyers a capable group whove been good at the traditional day-to-day but need nurturing, not pushing, to evolve into a more strategic, commercially minded function.
  • Your job is to guide them through that shift. Build trust. Develop confidence. Lead with consistency and care.
  • Youll also take the reins on supplier strategy negotiating with UK-based partners (95% domestic) to reduce emissions, improve efficiency, and secure continuity of supply through robust contingency planning.
  • Some travel will be needed (around once a year per supplier), but you'll be based on-site at the HQ in Blackpool.
