Role Summary as a Project Engineer /Technical Project Lead
As a Project Engineer / Technical Project Lead you will provide comprehensive engineering support throughout the entire lifecycle of a project-from tendering support (as required) and project kick-off through to documentation preparation, equipment procurement, operational support, and final As-Built documentation. This role involves both office-based and on-site responsibilities, including offshore assignments and remote placements at client offices or project locations as required. Please note the main office is based in Blyth
Key Responsibilities of Project Engineer /Technical Project Lead
Support projects from tender stage through execution and completion.
Interpret and understand project scope of work and technical requirements.
Prepare and compile project-specific documentation, including Procedures, Task Plans, RAMS, and HIRAs.
Develop and maintain the Project Equipment List (PEL); coordinate the sourcing of equipment and consumables.
Provide hands-on engineering support during operations-on-site, offshore, or remotely.
Lead the preparation of As-Built documentation for final project handover.
Ensure high standards of engineering input across all project documentation.
Assist with procurement of specialist project equipment and consumables.
Coordinate with logistics teams, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
Plan and organise required resources and services for mobilisation activities.
Manage change requests and support operations during the project lifecycle, including sourcing equipment locally as needed.
Achievement of individual deliverables as defined in appraisals or one-to-ones.
Demonstrated cost or time savings benefiting the Company and/or Client.
Requirements of Project Engineer / Technical Project Lead
Effective communicator, confident engaging with client-side Project Managers, Engineers, and Document Controllers.
Able to collaborate and interact across all levels within the Company.
Comfortable working independently or as part of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team.
Demonstrates initiative and flexibility in handling responsibilities beyond defined tasks.
Skilled in negotiating with vendors and developing strategic supplier relationships.
Qualifications Project Engineer /Technical Project Lead
BEng / BEng (Hons) in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
MEng in a relevant discipline.
Recognised Project Management qualification.
Valid offshore certification (e.g., OPITO, GWO) and Offshore Medical.
Experience
Proven experience in a project engineering role within a relevant industry.
Offshore experience in cable or pipe lay operations is highly preferred.
Experience in offshore trenching operations is advantageous.
Must hold a full UK drivers license
