Teaching Assistant - SEN School (SEMH Focus)

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Bolton. The school provides a nurturing environment for pupils who require additional support with their emotional and behavioural development.



Your Role:

  • Support students with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible learning activities

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage personal growth and confidence

  • Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to promote progress and wellbeing



The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, autism, or additional needs

  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for helping every child reach their potential

  • (Desirable) A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or Team Teach / de-escalation training
